immense Position and Grandeur

Friday the 02nd of Dul Kida1432 .corresponding to the 30th of September 2011 was really a very special day in my life as a dream was fulfilled through an unscheduled meeting as the destiny took me through the tortuous and nostalgic « Derb Bani Djoumla » in the Historic city of Tlemcen , the Pearl of the Maghreb, there and by means of a sudden and quick invitation by the Great Thinker and Intellectual of this blooming city : Sidi Mohamed Ben Ahmed Baghli, a Devout Gentleman who is dedicating all his time serving the cause of « There is no God but Allah & Mohamed his Messenger », as such I took part in the 865th relevant session of the « Sanoussi Friday ».
Entering the small and modest dwelling which was once the « Khalwa » or « seclusion » of Sidi Sanoussi ( a Great Algerian Muslim Erudite1787-1859), I was just stunned and awe inspired by the ornamented way of decoration through the shiny walls of the small house as written boards containg an impressive amount of information regarding the many essays, writings and other documents of the Master of this long and deeply rooted cultural spiritual city of Tlemcen Sidi Sanoussi.
Sooth to say ,It was not an unreachable dream; as I had both the honour and privilege to meet such Great Personalities, Erudites , Doctors , Students , even a high profile delegation invited on the occasion from the other Algerian Historic city of Bijaya , all this marvellous mosaic was involved in the study gathering dedicating all their efforts to the works of this Erudite Spiritual Master Sidi Sanoussi.

Sidi Mohamed Baghli full of enthusiasm and self confident gave an awe-inspiring performance through the 03 hour class , highlighting the main features of the day topics,, truly embracing History with present day Tlemcen Capital of the Islamic culture, one can only wonders how much hidden people able of serving others are just unknown to the great public much to the chagrin of knowledge seekers as the case is with this Humble Writer.

It goes without saying that the meeting was a gathering of hearts and minds in search of what connects Believers to each other for the sake of « La Ilaha Illa Allah » As the Earth is purifying itself with water, wind and rain so do we need to purify ourselves to prepare us for our own individual transition.

This personal experience of this Divine inspired gathering and the beautiful way it has been presented has genuinely reflected in all things and experiences and this can act as a powerful antidote to the alienation and fragmentation of the soul that tends to deviate sometimes from the right path , it is indeed a Panacea that cures from the unseen illness so,meditation, purification, self-reflection, creative imagination, meeting different people, such wealth can undoubtedly lead to an opening of the heart and to greater self realisation.

Generally speaking and in defiant manner we can say that the Sanoussi Friday Meetings are just the transcending meditation sessions that act as a battery charger to allow us to take our spirituality into everyday living

Surely, Sidi Sanoussi ‘s work and devotion is a paramount constitution of those same ideals meant for the service to God and to humanity in the path of truth , endowed with such Divine grace (Baraka) , had certainly played a great role in the Algerian society at that time and vigorously shaped North Africa for centuries and that’s why he is still living in the memory of many people and loyal disciples

Paying him a great Tribute through my attendance to his 865th Friday session, is but a mere attempt to give the Man his merits and his achievements, but in downtown Tlemcen and precisely in “Derb Bani Djoumla” Sidi Sanoussi’s most sacred architectural masterpiece is still proudly witnessing its spiritual legacy and reverberating the perennial Divine message which has always come and will always come to enlighten humanity
